Mount Pleasant Mills is a census-designated place located in Snyder County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated in the central part of the state, approximately 30 miles north of Harrisburg. The population of Mount Pleasant Mills was 342 according to the 2020 census.
The community is part of the Selinsgrove -- Lewisburg -- Sunbury Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located along Pennsylvania Route 104. Mount Pleasant Mills is known for its agricultural heritage, and the town is surrounded by farmland.
The Mount Pleasant Mills area was originally inhabited by Native Americans such as the Susquehannocks. European settlements began in the 18th century. The town was named after the nearby Mount Pleasant mansion, built by the prominent Zimmerman family in the 1820s.
